Not that I am bitter but Tesco’s recent loss of £5 billion in their share price in one day gave me some cause for cheer. But just a bit.
Why so? Well it indicates that people are exploring alternatives to this one stop monolith and choice is good. Choice keeps the retailers keen and ensures that competition exists in the market place.
We want to promote the choice of the best local food made with care and designed to excite and stimulate.
But we can only take a fleeting moment of hope in Tesco’s woes as they will be back unless……Unless we can keep getting better at winning our customers support. And as I have said before in “How can the independents fight back” we can only do this by getting better at marketing the benefits of our wares more effectively and enabling our customers to get hold of our goodies more easily.

Really enjoying your daily hot meals at the moment (and have introduced my colleagues to them too).
Great to see the menu for next week ahead of time. Perhaps it’d be a good idea for your to tweet the daily special at the start of each day (or 11am?) too.
And maybe make the special veggie one day a week?
Hi Frankie thanks for your feedback. Good idea to make at least one day suitable for vegetarians hopefully with a dish equally appealing to committed carnivores. We are keen to find ways of speading the word so daily tweets would be good for us as long as these don’t get annoying(?) and would people be adverse to getting the following weeks menu with perhaps a value added offer on the Fridat before?

Hi Peter. I don’t think a daily tweet would be annoying at all – most people tweet far more than this – and your tweets would be actually useful. Communicating next week’s menu on a Friday sounds like a good idea to me too.
Hi Frankie we will have a go at a daily tweet and also post the menu up on our web site so it can be referred to at people’s convenience. Hopefully see you at some point in the week.
